Seeking Christian Unity

Prayer for Revival

On January 6th I represented NCBC at an evening where churches were encouraged to bring a stick with the name of the church engraved on it. The sticks were brought forward and then bound together as a statement of the desire for unity between churches. The evening wsa organised by 'Prayer for Revival' (a monthly prayer meeting for the city) and you can read more here:

Thanks, Jim - fantastic engraving                       The sticks are bound together

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

The Churches of French Canada chose a key biblical text calling for unity and posed the question Paul asked, "Is Christ Divided?" In Norwich, Churches Together in Central Norwich organised a service to mark the occasion. It was very different in style to the 'Prayer for Revival' evening earlier in the month and attracted a different range of Christians. It is encouraging to see, though, that there is a desire for greater unity throughout the city.

People begin to gather for the service

Pantomime time... (Oh, yes it was!)

The Searchlight Theatre Company performed "Oliver with a Christmas Twist" as a New Year treat. As their website claimed it was a "seasonal dash through this Dickens classic in true pantomime style." As a part of the evening they shared about World Vision's Child Sponsorship Scheme and gave people the opportunity to support the work.

Enjoying the performance...
